3 Months | Spokane, WA Children Photographer

Emmalia had her three month birthday yesterday, on our anniversary. She is getting so big, and so much more aware these days. She smiles and giggles ALOT now. So cute to go and get her out of her crib in the mornings...smiles all around! She is completly different then Landon was at this age in that she sleeps most nights through the night (Landon didn't do that till he was one!!) and she takes two naps during the day, usually 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. Landon hardly ever napped and the few days he did it was 15 hour power nap and he was up and ready to go. Though Emma is alot easier with the sleeping, I can't believe I ever thought having one child was busy or stressful...try two with a buisness and your husband working 60+ hours. :) It is also fun to see the change in Landon...he went from dislike of Emma, to being extremely curious about Emma, to absolutely adoring her. He worries if we go somewhere and leave her with daddy, he always wants to know where she is, and he loves to sit by her and talk to her. SO precious!

3 years ago today...

I have so many wonderful memories from our wedding day...one of the best days of my life. I love you so much Nathan. You complete me. God sent me the perfect helpmate. I love how we look at each other and can make silly faces, knowing we are thinking the exact same things...I love how you know exactly the right thing to say when I need it said, how much you encourage my photography...and, honestly, anything I set my mind too. I love how whenever you grab my hand, you squeeze it three times to remind me that you love me. It's so perfect and comfortable with you, so wonderful. I can't believe it's been 3 years, and, at the same time, I can't believe it's only been 3 years. I feel like we've been together forever, growing older together and raising our sweet babies together. Thank you for being the best daddy and husband I could ever dream of. I love you!

Camping...

We went to Lake Pend Orielle for camping with family this last weekend, and had so much fun! We got a campsite right next to the lake, and enjoyed relaxing with each other. The cousins had so much fun together...what a great 4th of July weekend!

Senior Pictures

Both my brother's are graduating this year, and David is graduating from Mt Spokane High School...and SCC with his AA Degree! I grabbed at the chance to take his senior pictures and will be doing Michael's (graduating from EWU) soon. I can't believe how old (ha! :) ) they are getting; what fine men they are.

Park Day

Auntie Rachel and I took the kids to Riverside and then a small park (with swings! :) ) this morning. Landon had fun on the swings, and was completely terrified of the killer mosquitoes at Riverside. He did, however, love throwing dirt and talking about "vajer"(water). Emmalia enjoyed sleeping the day away and complaining whenever a ray of sun hit her face. ;o)

Almost 2?!?!

Landon is getting so big. In just over a month, our little guy is going to be 2! He is changing and growing so much these days, especially being a big brother now. He's doing so well with Emmalia even if we do have an occasional...issue. (what? I can't chuck things at her? what? I'm to small to pick her up?) He talks so much now and loves being outside. He's outside all day long and still has a breakdown when we have him come in for dinner and a bath.
We love you so much Landon Mitchell!

34 weeks!

...and I don't care what anyone says, I'm starting to feel huge! :) If our little girl is born when her brother was, yesterday was 5 weeks left to go! We are getting very excited, even though it still seems like a ways off to me. Up until 30 weeks this pregnancy went by in the blink of an eye, and now time seems to be standing still, haha! Before I know it though, we will be holding our little girl and she will be growing up way to fast, just like Landon.
I got some little things I needed today, like newborn diapers and a few other little odds and ends for her arrival that I had on my list. Now we just need a name. ;o)
I have a picture session with some siblings this Saturday, for their Mother's Day gift to their mom. I can't wait to get out and take pictures! We are loving all the sunshine we are getting lately. Life is so busy, but so wonderful. We are BLESSED!

Spring!

We have actually started having warmer weather lately! Yay! Even though we have't gotten a ton of sunshine yet, I'll certainly take it feeling more like spring. Seeing some of my flowers starting to come up and our massive amounts of snow melting is so fun. Last week it was sunny for a day and Landon wanted to be outside all day long. Last fall he didn't want to get dirty for anything, now he practically rolls around in the mud. He crawls on the grass, throws dirt and runs around as fast as he can. Silly kid is hard to take pictures of this year, he won't stop for anything and the cutie in my tummy slows me down :)

Daddy

Landon wants to do everything Nathan does these days. He copies him constantly and follows us both everywhere. It's endearing, adorable, and sometimes gets a tiny bit annoying. ;o)It is very precious though. He especially loves watching basketball with Nathan, and yelling at the bad refs together. Landon even says, "Oh wow!" or "uh-oh" now when he sees the ball go in the hoop or miss it all together. On Saturday Nathan was laying on the floor, and Landon got pillows off the couch and laid next to him. They talked forever, and I love Nathan's expression in the second picture...he takes everything Landon tells him so seriously, as if he understands it all. ;o)
My boys, so precious...

Photography lesson...

My friend and I have been reading a photography book together and learning so many neat new things and sharing them with each other, via internet since she is so far away! I am really enjoying using the A-DEP on my camera more and getting some lovely pictures with very blurry backgrounds (aka depth of field). Find out if you can change the aperture on your camera/lens, and if you can, play around with it! You'll thank me later. ;o)

Pure joy....

Even when mommy and daddy get crabby about 4 feet of snow in the yard, 3+ nights of shoveling off roofs and car accidents and driving on ice, there is still much joy to be found. What a blessing this little man is...

Home!

Seattle was fun but very very icy. With 4 inches of snow their roads are as bad as ours simply because no one ever plows and hardly anyone can figure out how to drive on ice and snow because they never get it. We were at the top of one road when this happened and are very glad that no one was seriously injured. Yikes. I wished we had found our camera in time to show how steep the road was they went down. Nearly vertical! Also special was having Snoqualmie Pass get shut down and having to take the long (Steven's Pass) way around. Ugh. It should never take 8 hours to drive from Seattle to Spokane. But, we are safe and happy to be home!
The game was awesome! I didn't realize how much I've gotten into the Zags until I realized I was yelling louder then Nathan during the game. :) Neither of us could talk that evening, but we loved it nonetheless! :)
Landon did awesome with both sets of grandparents and everyone had fun with him. Our house, however, was not so much fun, since we came home to frozen water pipes. About 24 hours later they are finally unfrozen, thanks to an awesome husband and two dad's that came over to look at things.

Now, for your viewing pleasure...Landon received a badly needed haircut today...here he is giving Grandma some awesome lip action, telling her how mean mommy is...

My 18 week, ridiculously tiny belly. Can this even be considered a belly? Nathan says I look like an anorexic who ate a bit more then normal :) The dr. however says that baby is just hiding (and that I am skinny) and that soon, I will pop. Ha! :)

Finally, this one speaks for itself. :)

Expecting #2...

It's true, we're pregnant!!! Yay!! Baby #2 is due May 24th (8 weeks along) and we are ecstatic. Landon is already learning to pat bellies and say "baby" which is too cute. I am feeling fine...besides throwing up 7 times this morning. :) It helps me to eat right away though, so I'm trying to keep food in me at all times! And for the girl/boy debate...we are completely thrilled with either. We're excited for a little brother for Landon, or a little sister. Keep us in your prayers as the baby grows!

Almost over...

the sickies, yay! I am so tired of having a cold (three weeks!!) and Landon is definitely tired of it. The first picture is of us chilling on the couch last weekend, doing absolutely nothing. The next two pictures are of Landon's awesome tower he made, ALL BY HIMSELF! Yes, we're slightly proud. ;o) Daddy showed him how to put blocks together, and suddenly it's no longer about knocking over towers, but making them. He was quite proud of this and kept showing us what he made and talking about it. The first picture is his extremly proud face. Oh yes, he is.
